San Antonio voted - and said Luke San Antonio is the Best on the River Walk.

“It’s very important to us because we work very hard everyday to be the best at what we do. And being the best on the River Walk is just one big step towards being the best in San Antonio,” said Executive Chef John Ross. “Giving great hospitality and honest service to our guests is what we’re all about.”

Lüke combines German and French Old World cooking techniques in a warm and inviting space perfectly situated on the San Antonio River Walk.

“Come on in for our jazz brunch,” said Chef Ross. “Come on down for our happy hour on Tuesdays with the Downtown Alliance. We’ve got our great Gulf oysters, and anytime you want to join us, we’re here for you!”

Congratulations Luke! Make sure you stop by for dinner next time you’re Downtown. You won’t regret it.

Casa Rio has always been decent. I have not been there in about eight years due a move to north Texas. Hope it has not changed since then.

the one's I mentioned all fall in to the non-chain venue because I refuse to go to the riverwalk and eat at a chain restaurant like hooters or rain-forest.

The ones that are affordable, which most people and tourists go to, are horrible! You can tell that everything that you are eating is from a can. That's why I stick to Hardrock Cafe. It is somewhat safe...

Biga is way too expensive for the quality of cuisine you get. If anyone were to look for a good place to eat with a modest price tag it would have to be Acenar for mexican, boudro's for bistro fare and over all I think The Republic of Texas for local cuisine.

The best one is the one that keeps serving that alcoholic beers and shots and then lets him leave driving his/her car. Thats the best. How about show us the amount of blue plate awards these places on the riverwalk have gotten as well. Heck why not show their demerits as well from the last health inspection. Post it in the front so everyone can see as they walk by.

Biga on the Banks has no close competition on the River or anywhere else in San Antonio. Boudro's is really good. The IRS closed down Dolores Del Rio; that was a sad day. Everything else on the River is poisonous.
