SAN ANTONIO – The results are in! After more than 250,000 votes cast - Franshyary (aka Shea) Rangel is the winner!

“There was a lot of good people on the ballet,” said Rangel. “I didn’t think I could compete with them, so it’s really exciting to know that all my friends and family support me enough to put me through to my dreams.”

The Madison High School grad is currently taking Music Business classes at San Antonio College. Her inspiration is Selena.

As the winner, Shea will be performing in the official New Years Eve party – Celebrate San Antonio.

“I can’t describe how amazing that feels,” Rangel told News 4 WOAI.

She wants to sing professionally. Right now she’s part of a semi-professional a cappella group out of Austin.

“So I’m kind of getting there. I’m moving my way forward through the business.”

Congratulations to Shea - and thanks to all the nominees.

Who makes the best tamales in San Antonio?

Forget the fruitcake and nix the nog. In San Antonio it wouldn't be Christmas without tamales. We line up to order — or make — Christmas Eve tamales.

So who makes the best tamales in San Antonio? Last year San Antonio said the best in SA is Tellez Tamales. But what about this year? Email your favorite to…

We’ll count up all the nominations on Friday – and then put the top four up for a vote.

@fairnessfan - This Bomb issue is going nowhere. I personally voted for Sarah Martin using the recommended voting method, as for the text bombing it really did not work. This code only gave her 2 or 3 votes and a couple of invalid errors, and even though I was for her I gave my congratulations to Shea Rangel. The competition is over and after listening to her songs I honestly believe that she deserves to be given this chance. Shes probably really happy about this, and its rude to make anyone feel like they dont deserver something they worked hard for. @SheaRangel ignore all the comments, don't waste your time. There will always be a negative in almost every situation in life, because there are people who aren't happy. Ignore all of the comments that are meant to hurt you. I will be looking forward to hearing you sing on New Years Eve.

@FairnessFan First of all, you don't need to page and go through all of my status'. The competition's over, you don't need to look me up. Second, I wrote Hey Guys! Vote! and I wrote s3 multiple times! I would know where you're coming from if I said "Hey Guys! Copy this into your text message and text it to 45548", but I didn't. You're blowing this way out of proportion and being paranoid about me "cheating". STOP! It's annoying and the competition is over. I gave you respect the first couple of times you said something but that's OVER the line going to my Facebook and claiming that I did something wrong. Third, I didn't know that putting S3 multiple times in a text message makes multiple votes. How did you know that it does that? Does it really work? Because I didn't try that. I guess you did.

Excuse me sir, no that's not what happened at all, your daughter knows that she text bombed and probably alot of her friends also. Rangel on some level turned this into a text bombing competition. It was certainly within the "rules" so fine, just don't think this was some objective victor of a singing competition. I actually took a photo of her FB page where she put the instructions for how to text bomb by placing s3 s3 s3 s3 about a million times in a text so that it would separate it out to make a bunch of texts. The bottom line is, we all know that you text bombed to win...don't sit there and say you don't know what that is or that you didn't do it.

@retirado - I brought up the text bombing, not "Martin" as you call her. There are just as many Patsy Torres fans complaining as any other competitor. Don't confuse the commenters with the contestants. And don't try to make "Martin" or anyone else who competed out to be the bad guy. As loyal fans, we are all entitled to cry "foul" on behalf of the artist we support.

If you are still complaining I think you need to redirect ur attention at Martin. This family has never heard of text bombing. Until Martin brough it up. I for one can tell you that each vote that was sent out from this household was individually inputted so stop with accusations and get over it. We want to thank everyone that voted and wish y'all a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

What would be interesting to see is if WOAI took out the text votes and went solely on the website/twitter votes. I think it would get closer to a scientific result as opposed to what is a self-admitted "text bomb" method from Shae's crew. Anyone else curious to know what the numbers would be? I suggest WOAI use the website/twitter count to bring in some element of fairness back to this competition.

I know for a fact that Patsy Torres and Sarah Martin didn't "enter" this contest - they were nominated by their fans unbeknownst to them. That's why the contest was set up - to honor those who have been voices in the San Antonio music scene. But there's also nothing wrong with someone who has an established music career trying to win, as well... Just because someone has released a CD doesn't mean they haven't fought tooth and nail to be recognized, as well. Sarah is a local singer songwriter who doesn't fit the San Antonio mold - she's a worship leader, a cellist, and because she's white and sings in a genre other than Tejano or Heavy Metal, she's definitely had her share of ups and downs in this town. Enjoy your New Years, Shea and family. You've worked hard to win this, so enjoy your time in the spotlight! But don't look down on the others just because they have loyal fans who are working just as hard to put them in the number one spot!

Its almost as if you have to belittle the prize ! I bet no one would've even cared to watch the show ( I know I wouldnt have) prior to this contest. Now all of a sudden its some sort of societal outrage that a local girl who wants the chance to sing on the program got her friends and family to help her.
