SAN ANTONIO -- The Easter egg hunt is a beloved tradition that dates back centuries.

According to History.com, the legend of the Easter Bunny and the Easter egg hunt came to the U.S. back in the 17th century, when children of German immigrants would make nests in gardens in anticipation of an egg-laying hare called "Osterhase" or "Oschter Haws" paying them a visit and laying its colored eggs.

Whether you like the more traditional hard-boiled and dyed variety or a plastic egg filled with chocolate, an Easter egg hunt is just about irresistible for children (and parents and grandparents who love to watch the kids 'go on the hunt').

News 4 WOAI/WOAITV.com viewers didn't 'hop' around when we asked who has the best Easter egg hunt in San Antonio.

Your top four nominees were:

Morgan's Wonderland
5223 David Edward Drive, San Antonio, TX 78233-6941

Concordia Lutheran Church
16801 Huebner Road, San Antonio, TX 78258

Two Step Restaurant
9840 Texas 1604 Loop, San Antonio, TX 78254

SeaWorld
10500 SeaWorld Drive, San Antonio, TX 78251

AND...

Concordia Lutheran Church won the top honor. Senior Paster Bill Tucker was thrilled when News 4 WOAI's Jacqueline Ortiz delivered the great news Wednesday afternoon.

"Thank you, Jacqueline. Thank you, News 4 WOAI. What an exciting award," said Pastor Tucker. "We have 16,000 eggs at Concordia, and its going to be a great time."

The huge egg hunt is scheduled for Saturday, April 7th and starts at 11:00 a.m. Children 2 years old through 5th graders are invited to go to participate. Just look for the tall cross at the corner of Loop 1604 and Huebner Road. Everyone is welcome, and it's free.

Because of large crowds in the past, the folks at Concordia Lutheran Church are asking anyone who wants to attend to please email them.

whatever born again. easter was a pagan holiday before christianity was made up. early christians adopted to help covert pagans. same thing with christmas, pagan holiday celebrated before christianity and later adopted by early christians.

The way we know that Born Again is imitating a Christian, rather than actually being one, is his/her capitalization of "devil." No real Christian would give honor to the horned bazturd..........Born Again also likes to capitalize "pagan" and "hell." Other indicators that Born Again isn't really born again..... (but your commentaries are really funny).

i actually agree with part of born again's statement about today's easter symbols (bunny, eggs, etc) as Pagan...funny how many pagan symbols you see in today's Christian culture...they can't even get their own stuff straight! LOL

Bunnies carrying around colored eggs is a Pagan symbol and it has nothing to do with Easter. Easter is the day that Jesus rose from the dead after the Romans crucified Him. Bunnies, baby chickies and pastel pullet eggs are all technically graven images and, as such, they are tools of the Devil. The Devil doesn't want you in Church of any Sunday and especially on Easter. He would rather have you corrupting the youth hunting candy eggs and then go off to some kind of Easter sale. My advice is to attend the Christian Mega Church on Loop 1604 of your choice this coming Sunday and every Sunday and especially Easter, which is next Sunday. While there, go on down to the pulpit when the Pastor calls and confess your love for Jesus, so to be baptised and have your sins washed away. Many of the unsaved allow themselves to believe there are other paths to salvation, but they are mistaken. Upon passing, they are ushered into busses for their final journey, but they are in the hands of the Devil and they don't know it yet. The busses all say "Charter", which is some mythical place and they have all heard of it before and wondered where it was. You see them everywhere and they are all bound for Hell. There is no path to salvation other than through Jesus. All other paths lead to the Lake of Fire.
