The best places we've tried for long, enjoyable walks: Wurzbach Parkway (the greenbelt, it's the smoothest); Hardberger Park (it's the most shaded, coolest, cleanest); and the nature trail in Comanche Lookout Park and Library (it's the most interesting because it's kinda' wild still, full of hills, etc.). Now, if I could just lay off the Ding-Dongs, hahaha.

Gone over this before with the whole cyclist vs jogger etc. Both can easily be accommodated people just need to learn stupid simple "rules". I've seen irresponsible riders just the same as irresponsible joggers or people letting their pets wander around dragging leashes or extending them across the path. It's not hard to announce yourself when you're coming up on someone. Cyclists announce yourself...joggers stay to the right. Seriously it's like driving...oh yeah SA is horrible for that. Anyways the trail is plenty wide if people would just be aware of their surroundings. Don't blare your music so loud you can't hear people and just be considerate of one another it's really simple. And PROA...streets were taken away from drivers, really? Hmm that's odd can you direct me to those streets I'm curious to maybe ride them. :)

I used to like running in/on the stone oak park trails. But I guess I can scratch that for a while.

Don't be so grumpy ProAm. I believe Ruth meant McCullough and Jackson Keller. And fyi, many parks now provide trash bags, so there are no excuses for not picking up pets' deposits.

Go to Brackenridge park and run. Lots of flowers that the county commissioners planted in the park last year which cost the citizens of Bexar County. I do believe it was over 100k that was spent to beautify the park so that we could walk, run and whatever in time for the county tax dollar plants to blume, oh no rain so most of the plants have taken on a new shape and look. Don't concern yourselfs with the pots hole in the streets, you can buy new shocks. So if you really feel energetic, you can run down some of these streets that County Commissioners don't have the cash to fix and we will call it an obstacle run for your enjoyment. Don't panic they donate another 50k to the soccer team, the million + swimming pool they built, oops. Oh well, lets keep electing them and we can create another building for them to name. Just thoughts to think about next time your at the polls and you suddenly remember the aggravation you had when you had to fix your car or you had your house broken into and the burglars were bar b quing in your yard because of the lack of officers that they cannot afford for your safety. Thanks and be safe running for the response time of a deputy responding could be a while due to the shortage of officers and they want to cut 129 positions more. The county is getting smaller folks and not bigger so run faster.

There are two spot that I really like. Leon Creek Greenway is very nice. Water stops at a regular interval, distance markings and lots of other runners. The amount of bikers do make it a little scary for the runners though, as it a bit narrow to accommodate both. They should have made it a two lane, one for wheels, one for feet. The other that I really like is Crownridge Natural area. It is more out of the way and secluded. Lots of trees and shade. It is a very peaceful are to run.

To: Ruth 10 There is no such park. Vance Jackson and McCullough don't even intersect.Put the jog/run/walkers on the park trails. put the cyclists back on the streets the city/county took away from the drivers . Walk you pets in your own neighborhood and pick up their "deposits". Park personnel should not have to clean up trash or pet "deposits" from trashy people.
