So will a portable air filter not be beneficial if I put a high end filter in my AC unit? Would both be better than one or the other? I don't want to waste the money on the portable but I feel like my house is full of "sick germs" at the moment and I will do whatever it takes to get and keep the family well again.

There's a sucker born everyday. 2 years ago my neighbor payed that much for a 3 ton system. Here it is 2 years later and I payed $6500 for a 4 ton system. Mine actually works. They have had problems since day one. Jon Wayne weaseled his way out of dealing with the issue by stalling until the warranty on their labor expired. Wake up WOAI, you are endorsing thieves!
