A collection of more than 6,000 books about Texas now has a home at the San Marcos Public Library. Journalist, author, and historian Mike Cox started collecting the books in 1954, when he was a kid. Cox donated his valuable collection to the library to complete an agreement worked out in 2017. The collection is in a special room at the library, where the public can read the books by appointment. Because many of the books are rare, they're not available for checkout.
