San Antonio's record $3 billion budget for fiscal year 2022 now has the approval of the City Council. The council passed the budget on Thursday evening. The spending plan restores cuts that were made over the past-two years, bringing certain expenditures back up to pre-pandemic levels. It includes a three-percent increase in the city's police budget but also funds changes in how police officers respond to mental health calls. There is also increased spending for public health, affordable housing, and road maintenance.
