Suspect Arrested For Killing Elderly Man With Shovel

A man is under arrest after reportedly admitting he killed a 67-year-old man with a shovel in South Bexar County on Saturday night. Deputies responded around midnight to the scene on South Loop 1604 West near Applewhite Road. A witness told them she saw 32-year-old Miguel Gonzales beating the victim with a shovel. The victim was dead at the scene with blunt-object injuries to his head and upper torso. There was a bloody shovel nearby. Deputies found and arrested Gonzales, who reportedly admitted to the crime. He was arrested for murder and two outstanding warrants.
