City Receives Nearly $47M From Federal Government For Housing Assistance

City officials will draw up a plan for spending nearly $47 million in federal dollars the city received for pandemic-related housing assistance. Assistant City Manager Lori Houston told the city council on Wednesday that staff will present a spending plan next month. The latest federal stimulus bill awarded the city nearly eight-times as much money as city staff expected. The funds could add several months to the city's housing assistance program, which has doled out more than $68 million to more than 26,000 San Antonio families.
