Lackland Quarantine Patients Complain About Conditions

Flight Evacuating American Cruise Ship Passengers Exposed To Coronavirus In Japan Arrives In US

Two patients in quarantine at Lackland Air Force Base are complaining about the conditions of their housing. Gay and Phil Courter of Crystal River, Florida say they have no air conditioning and there is a water leak. Gay Courter said there's a moldy-mildew smell in their room. She did say they are happy to be off the troubled Diamond Princess cruise ship where they had been quarantined in Japan. However, she said they were told they would be able to get regular exercise, but now are forced to stay inside their room. She said it's very claustrophobic. Phil Courter said they have complained to base officials. The couple arrived Sunday with 145 others and now have to stay another two weeks in isolation. There are a total of 235 evacuees at the base.
